Coupled Motor Pumps
A coupling is a device used to attach shafts together at their ends for the motive of transmitting power. Couplings do not typically permit disconnection of shafts for the duration of operation, but there are torque restricting couplings which could slip or disconnect while some torque limit is handed.
The primary case of couplings is to join two pieces of rotating equipment while permitting some degree of misalignment or end movement or both. By careful selection, installation and maintenance of couplings, substantial savings can be made in reduced maintenance costs and downtime.
Shaft Couplings are mechanical devices used to attach rotating shafts and absorb misalignment between them. Shaft couplings are used for electricity and torque transmission between two rotating shafts consisting of on cars and pumps, compressors, and generators.
Clamped or compression rigid couplings come in two parts and fit together around the shafts to form a sleeve. They offer greater flexibility than sleeved models, and may be used on shafts which are fixed in region. They are commonly large enough so that screws can pass all the way through the coupling and into the second half to ensure a secure hold. .Flanged inflexible couplings are designed for heavy hundreds or commercial system. They consist of short sleeves surrounded with the aid of a perpendicular flange. One coupling is placed on each shaft so the two flanges line up face to face.
